In memory of Katalin Szabó

Former and current Eszterlánc dancers gathered to remember Katalin Szabó, a prominent figure in the San Francisco Bay Area, mother of our dancer and secretary, Victoria Szabó-Lengyel.
Katalin Szabó was a “guardian angel” for Éva Kish while she studied at Stanford University in the second half of the 1970s.
When Éva needed to put together a group of people for her Master’s dissertation, Katalin gathered Hungarian youth from the Bay Area, and soon after established Eszterlánc Hungarian Folk Ensemble.

Megtanultad a kalotaszegi alaplépéseket, de nem tudod, mikor mutathatnád meg őket a barátaidnak?

Az Eszterlánc segít neked! Január 20-ára elhívtuk Orbán László prímást Seattle-ből, Lajos Miklós “Lecsó” brácsást Vancouverből, és Erdei János nagybőgőst Sarasotából, hogy a talpad alá húzzák a muzsikát.

Dajka Ilka táncművészünk és az erre az alkalomra Magyarországról meghívott férfi táncos vezetésével felnőtt és gyermek tánctanítással, táncházzal, énekléssel várunk. Étel-ital, jókedv biztosítva.

Már csak te hiányzol! Gyere el! Várunk!

Eszterlánc invites you to join us at our táncház on January 20th, 2024.
This is our regular start-of-the-year dance house, with László Orbán on violin, Miklós Lajos “Lecsó” on brácsa, and János Erdei on bőgő.
Our KCSP scholar, Ilka Dajka will lead the dance teaching circles. She will be helped by a male dance teacher visiting us from Hungary.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
